Workshop Guidelines
1. Be Respectful:
We honor the courage it takes to share personal experiences, and recognize that vulnerability is an act of bravery. Speak and listen with care, so that everyone feels safe, seen, and valued.
2. Be Kind and Open-Minded:
Approach others’ perspectives with empathy even if they differ from your own. Curiosity over judgment helps us grow individually and as a community.
3. Listen Actively:
Listen to understand rather than to reply—give your full presence to the person speaking. Avoid interrupting and allow space for each person to express themselves at their own pace.
4. Avoid Problem-Solving Unless Asked:
It’s natural to want to help, but often the most supportive thing we can do is simply be present. Unless someone asks for advice, focus on validating their experience.
5. No Gossiping or Speaking Negatively Toward Others:
This group is a space for encouragement, not criticism. While you’re welcome to reflect on what resonates with you outside of our workshops, we ask that you speak about others with respect and not in a way that tears someone down.
6. Participation In our Discussions Is Optional:
You are welcome to share as much or as little as feels right to you. Listening with intention is just as valuable as speaking.
7. Respect Personal Boundaries:
Everyone has different levels of comfort when it comes to sharing or engaging. Be mindful of nonverbal cues and always respect when someone needs space, silence, or time.
